Yep, I Just Bought Another Headlamp Globe

If you’re like me, you are frustrated at having to replace so many of your car headlamp globes. I’ve tried many different brands with varying results but few last more than four to six months. I don’t know what it is about my car, maybe the high current output from the alternator immediately after starting drives the voltage too high, or the fact that the headlamps can be left switched on all the time resulting in too many on/off cycles. Headlamp globes always seem to blow at the most inconvenient time. Really, is there ever a “convenient” time?

Compared this experience to my other family car which I’ve had for close on eight years now and never replaced a headlamp globe.

My frustration resulted in a solution I’d like to share.
